Unfortunately we are unable to assist in conflicts related to housing. However, we can help you file complaints or report against discriminatory housing practices, racial profiling or disproportionate use of force on behalf of law enforcement. If this is the case, please notify us.
First, file a complaint at your housing association. Usually this can be done through their website or general phone number.
If your complaint at the housing association gets no response or does not lead to the desired outcome, you can file a complaint at the Rent Tribunal (‘Huurcommissie’). You can file a complaint by following this link. You will be charged 25 euros to start a procedure at the Rent Tribunal, but you will get refunded if you are found to be in the right.
You can also reach out to the Woonbond, an organization that advocates on behalf of renters in the Netherlands. They do require a membership costing 36,90 euros a year, to be found here. Once enrolled, you can call their rent line (020-551 77 55) for expert advise on your rights as a tenant and for legal advice regarding disputes with your housing association.
